On Tuesday, August 18, our Little Flower Golf Team competed in the 4th Annual Llanerch Country Club High School Invitational sponsored by the Golf Association of Philadelphia Foundation. Molly Pawlowski, Marissa Bell, and Cecilia Bowdren led the team to a 4th place finish. Molly Pawlowski was the recipient of this year's $5,000 college scholarship given to a senior golfer. Congratulations on a great start to the season!

Longtime Radio Anchor to Lead Young Women at Little Flower HS Michelle Durham will move from behind the microphone at KYW Newsradio to the North Philadelphia high school and mold young women in the classroom and through the Klarich Center for Academic Excellence.

The Little Flower Community, along with the Athletic Department, is extremely excited to welcome Ms. Walker Buxton and Ms. Jennifer Crowe as the next Varsity Girls Head Volleyball Coach and Varsity Girls Assistant Volleyball Coach.

Coach Buxton played volleyball at Ashley Hall High School in Charleston, SC and into college at Sewanee University where she played setter and right side. Coach Buxton also played in various adult club leagues and has been able to coach ages 13-18, which has given her a broad perspective on the game and its evolving styles. Her coaching philosophy centers on a growth mindset: building strong fundamentals while fostering strategic thinking and adaptability on the court.

Walker loves watching volleyball at all levels, and is excited to see the sport gaining recognition at the professional level through leagues like LOVB as well as increased television coverage of college games. She is thrilled to continue supporting athletes to develop their skills, confidence, and love for the game.

Coach Crowe brings several years of coaching experience from High School, DVA, CYO, and middle school levels. Jennifer is passionate about player development, fostering a positive team culture, and building a competitive program.

We wish Coach Buxton and Coach Crowe much success this season!

Before you can participate in tryouts, ALL registration requirements must be completed, including:
✅ Online athletic registration
✅ A current PIAA physical (CIPPE) completed and submitted

Per PIAA requirements: Student-athletes may not participate in tryouts, practices, or contests until all required PIAA eligibility forms, including a valid physical examination, have been completed and approved.

An award-winning journalist, Michelle brings more than two decades of experience in broadcasting, investigative reporting, public relations, and marketing, including more than 20 years as an anchor and reporter with KYW Newsradio. A Temple University graduate, Michelle is a gifted communicator and relationship builder whose work has been recognized locally and nationally.

The Klarich Center extends learning beyond the classroom through real-world experiences, hands-on projects, and creative problem-solving. Michelle’s professional experience, engaging personality, and deep community connections make her uniquely suited to lead this work. Through meaningful partnerships, mentorship opportunities, and innovative programming, she will help our students discover their purpose, find their voices, and pursue their passions with confidence.

We are excited for the energy and vision Michelle will bring to our students and the entire Little Flower community.

We’re proud to support Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls and its campaign to renovate the school’s cafeteria, a space that has been the heart of campus life for generations of students.

For our family, this project is especially meaningful. Anthony’s mother was a proud Little Flower alumna, and the school’s longtime brother school, Northeast Catholic High School for Boys, was attended by multiple generations of the Biondo family. Giving back to a school with such deep family and Philadelphia roots is an honor.

The renovated cafeteria will provide students with a modern, welcoming space where friendships are built, achievements are celebrated, and lifelong memories continue to be made.
