Trolley Modernization: Trolley Modernization is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform one of the nation’s largest trolley networks, into an accessible, fast, and easy to use system. Trolley Modernization includes new, accessible vehicles that hold more passengers, new on-street stations that are well-marked, safe, and fully accessible, infrastructure and operational improvements to make service faster and more reliable, and proposed line extensions to make it easier for riders to reach more destinations. Learn more at septa.org/trolley-modernization. http://septa.org/trolley-modernization
Why: SEPTA is currently developing a comprehensive Public Engagement Framework to guide public outreach and engagement for Trolley Modernization. Families with small children (Pre-k - 4th) are a priority audience for this work. Your insights will support by informing how we can best share important updates and receive feedback related to route changes and upcoming construction activities along trolley corridors.
Focus Group: Parents or Guardians of Pre-K through 4th grade children who use trolley service.
Eligibility: Interested participants will need to complete an eligibility survey to confirm eligibility. Approved participants will be contacted after completing the survey.
Access Information: The meeting location will be at an ADA accessible venue with ADA accessible restrooms. The room will be laid out to accommodate people who use wheelchairs and other mobility devices. The location will have street parking available and close public transit access. It will be located within the trolley coverage area: exact location will be provided to confirmed participants. Light refreshments will be provided. ASL interpretation and other access support can be provided upon request. Please email [email protected] with any additional access needs or questions.
When: First or second week in March 2026
Where: Location details will be shared with confirmed participants
If you’re interested, please complete the eligibility survey by Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Participants will be selected on a first come, first serve basis.
Questions? If you have any questions about the focus group or need any additional support or accommodations to fully participate, please reply by email to [email protected] or call or text (215) 360-3272
