Next Thursday 10/9 (7pm), we're delighted to welcome the amazing Reeps One (Harry Yeff) to our campus for a special presentation in Mandell Theater. In his performative lecture format, Yeff, will explore the future of creativity at the intersection of art, voice, and artificial intelligence (AI). He is a world-class beatboxer, winning the UK Beatbox Championships in 2009 and 2010 (links to his work in the comments). Our director, Youngmoo Kim will facilitate a live discussion with the artist, following his presentation. Our Young Dragons: Build Your Own PC week is a wrap! Students not only learned the basics of building a computer, but designed and pitched their own video games, designed music for their games, learned Internet security, and explored AI generated content. Next week - Intro to Coding!

Please join us in welcoming Miles Cumiskey as our new AmeriCorps VISTA for Digital Inclusion! Miles will be assisting with outreach, volunteer recruitment, and program development for our Digital Navigator program. We look forward working together as we close out our three year project with AmeriCorps.

Yesterday the ExCITe Center hosted a delegation from the Ministry of Education in Malaysia and . Our STAR student Derrick Banks Jr. provided an incredible overview of the ILLEST Lab including the VR sneaker design work. Our guests also received an overview of the technology created by which will be used for an event at Lincoln Center in NYC this weekend.

We love to share the creative research of our academic labs along with the opportunities we create for students. Our students have the opportunity to be involved in innovative research that has a direct impact on the community.

Our high school student Brody Park from and our co-op student Mike Park are working with to replace batteries for their wearable vibro-tacticle systems for an up coming performance at Lincoln Center.

Rich has been leading the outreach and data collection work as part of Drexel University's grant while also assisting with outreach for PHLConnect over the past couple of years. We're thrilled to have him as part of the ExCITe Center family!
