The Aspen Grove School is looking to hire Infant/Toddler Teachers.

We are a nature-based early learning center in Center City Philadelphia serving approximately 190 children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years. Our facility is spacious, filled with natural light and intentionally prepared to spark wonder, curiosity and calm.

We are wholeheartedly optimistic about every child's potential and are looking for a teacher who shares this optimism, is self-motivated, and brings enthusiasm and energy to the role. We value building a dedicated team of educators who build longevity with the school and grow with us.

Position Summary:

The Infant/Toddler Teachers are responsible for co-teaching, ensuring the supervision and safety as well as the academic, social, and emotional growth and development of all children in their care. The teacher is also responsible for lesson planning, family communication, and assuring compliance with all state and local governing contracting agencies as well as the supervision of other staff members working in their classroom. All staff must believe in and act in accordance with Aspen Grove's program mission and vision statements.

Educational Requirements:

Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education (Lead Teachers)
Infant Toddler CDA Credential achieved or in Process (Assistant Teachers)
Two years of teaching experience.

Desired Additional Qualifications:

BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education with 30 credits in ECE.
Teaching certification is a plus.

Our International Mud Day celebration was a huge success!

This day was born over a decade ago when teachers from two countries realized that their students’ experiences with mud were vastly different. A school in Australia did not have regular access to mud due to their sandy soil, and a school in Nepal did not have access to soap to clean their clothes and therefore discouraged their children from getting dirty. A beautiful partnership of compassion grew from their dialogue, and International Mud Day has been growing in traction and reach ever since!

Four members of the Aspen Grove team are at the Boulder Journey School’s Reggio conference learning alongside educators who share our belief in children as capable, competent, and curious learners. We’re excited to bring fresh inspiration and ideas back to our teachers and classrooms!

Honoring Juneteenth in our beautiful, historic space that once housed the First African Baptist Church of Philadelphia—a place rooted in faith, community, and resilience. We are grateful to steward a building with such meaningful history, and to continue filling it with the wonder, curiosity, and joy of childhood.

Grounded in research from organizations like the American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Association for the Education of Young Children, this session will explore how play-based learning builds the critical foundations for kindergarten readiness—including language, problem-solving, self-regulation, and social skills.

We’ll also take a closer look at how literacy, math, and STEM learning are meaningfully woven into a play-based environment and how academic skills are not separate from play, they are embedded within it. Join our session with Deb Green (ECE leader for over 40 years, retired Executive Director of PIC - a Reggio-inspired STAR 4 and NAEYC-accredited program, and adjunct ECE professor at Arcadia University), as we unpack what “Kindergarten readiness” means and what this looks like at Philly’s public and private schools.

Mother’s Day is a special pause to think about the women who shape us, long before we fully understand what they are carrying for us behind the scenes.

The love and influence of mothers and mother figures often changes the trajectory of our lives in ways words can barely capture.

To the mothers celebrating for the very first time this year, whether with a newborn or one on the way, we are celebrating you too. For the Aspen Grove teachers who bring a mother-like touch to each child’s day, we are grateful for you.
