Our programs have found new homes! We hope that you will continue to Raise a City of Readers!
THE BOOK BANK: Reading Recycled, a longtime partner of the Book Bank, has taken over management. They will continue to provide new and gently used books to children and families, teachers, schools, and other nonprofit partners. For more information on the Book Bank visit: www.readingrecycled.org
POWER PARTNERS: Achieve Now has joined forces with Philadelphia READS to run the Power Partners program. Power Partners matches socially conscious organizations with children from Philadelphia classrooms for literacy coaching and mentorship sessions running for the entire school year. For more information on Power Partners visit: www.achieve-now.com
READING OLYMPICS: The Free Library is now the home of Reading Olympics. The Reading Olympics is a city-wide collaborative reading competition that aims to foster a love of reading, develop teamwork skills, and bring students from different parts of the city together. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING LITERACY IN PHILADELPHIA! IT HAS BEEN AN HONOR SERVING THE CHILDREN OF PHILADELPHIA AND THEIR FAMILIES AND TEACHERS.
The goal is simple:
To put books into the homes of all children!

Due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19, the 2020 Reading Olympics is cancelled. All team registrations will be transferred to next year’s event unless your school decides to opt out. Please email [email protected] if you wish to cancel your registration. The current book lists will be used for the 2021 Reading Olympics. Coaches, we cannot thank you enough for your continued and unwavering support of Reading Olympics. We could not run this program without you, and we respect and appreciate your dedication to your teams. We look forward to working with you next school year and to seeing you in person at Reading Olympics 2021.

Because of the impact of the COVID-19 virus, we are cancelling the in-person Reading Olympics 2020 competition. Many of our partner organizations are cancelling in-person events, and we agree that it is the most responsible thing to do right now.
We are exploring alternative options to the in-person competition. Look for updates.
In the meantime, we send our regrets to our teams. We hope that you are enjoying the books. And many thanks to our coaches for all you’ve done to facilitate your team’s preparation. We appreciate you so much.
