ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PHILOSOPHY
University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. Position: Tenure track Assistant Professor of Philosophy, starting July 1, 2019. Area of Specialization: Ethics. Two courses per semester, plus advising and committee work. Ph.D. expected at time of appointment. Applicants should submit CV, research statement, writing sample, teaching dossier (including sample syllabi), and contact information for three individuals who have agreed to provide a letter of recommendation at http://facultysearches.provost.upenn.edu/postings/1447.

Preference for candidates who can teach bioethics, philosophy of law, and/or philosophy of social science in addition to a survey of normative ethics. Two courses per semester, plus advising and committee work. For our undergrad Philosophy students: Please consider submitting an essay to the ROSS PRIZE or the FLOWER PRIZE in philosophy. These annual prizes are awarded at graduation. The ROSS Prize is for an essay in the history of philosophy, while the Flower Prize may be awarded to an essay on any topic in Philosophy. Submissions must be the original work of an undergraduate student at the University of Pennsylvania, up to 25 pages in length (double-spaced). A submission may be a paper submitted for a course at Penn.
Instructions for submission:
· Send your submission as a PDF attachment to an email sent to the Undergraduate Chair in Philosophy, Susan Meyer.
· The Subject line of the email must include ‘ROSS PRIZE’ or ‘FLOWER PRIZE’.
· Submissions must be anonymous: that is, the PDF should not include your name, or any other identifying information.
· Submissions are due by 11:59 pm on Monday 27 March 2017.
