We had a good day at the HCM CLINIC. MamiesSphynx Here Cones the Riffraff and Destynys Celaena, plus several pet adopters ALL SCANNED NORMAL. Thank you to all the adopters who are proactive and scan your cats. Even if you don’t get good news, there are many medications that work to help prolong your cat’s life.
DEVON REX KITTENS: Viktoria kittens check over & weigh ins. We do this 2x a day to ensure they are handled, check eyes and umbilical area and overall appearance. This is critical we do this as breeders. Catching anything that may be amiss must be caught immediately. These kittens look fabulous!

SCAN YOUR Sphynx. Do not wait. All Sphynx should be scanned at ages 1,3,5,7,9 etc regardless of family history, parents scan results or even having a normal regular vet health check up. I am screaming this for the 10,000th time- A REGULAR VET CANNOT TELL IF YOUR CAT HAS HEART DISEASE OR NOT. Many cats have heart disease and show no signs. 1 in 7 cats has HCM. 1 in 2.5 Sphynx have HCM despite claims of some uneducated or unethical breeders saying they have “HCM free lines”. HCM FREE is not only an incorrect term, it does NOT EXIST!
A cat can only be “HCM negative” at the time of the scan. It is the best tool we have right now.
Declawing should banned and no one should do it.
