About Irish Language Learners

Our Mission
Our mission is to promote and support the daily use of the Irish Language. Through social media, we are creating a Global Gaeltacht (Irish Speaking region) that welcomes all levels of learners. Background
Irish Language Learners was founded in early 2013 by Seán Lenaghan and his wife Estelle, students of the Irish Language. Their goal was to provide daily immersion for existing learners and to inspire new people to join the community of Gaelgeoirí (Irish Language enthusiasts) across the globe. In May, 2014, artist Kaytria Stauffer joined their efforts by posting weekly “doodles” that encouraged the accumulation of vocabulary. The team has reached around the globe to countries such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, England, Germany, Japan, Russia, Scotland, Spain, The United States, and the list goes on! Support
If you’re a student of the Irish Language, we offer partial scholarships to study at Coláiste na Rinne in County Waterford, Ireland. Scholarship applications will be available January 15th with a due date of March 1st . Please contact us for information regarding submissions at [email protected]

Posters of Kaytria’s doodles can be purchased at www.Etsy.com/shop/saotharlann. You can go through our Facebook or to our Square page at https://squareup.com/store/irishlanguagelearners page to purchase books, mugs, wristbands, and more. We run limited time only t-shirt campaigns throughout the year that support a variety of our activities, including our scholarship fund. If you are an Irish teacher, an advanced student, part of a ciorcal comhrá, or other Irish language group, we could use your help! We are constantly looking for series of lessons, videos, images, short stories, and other media that can be posted on the site. GAELATHON - RÁS TRÍ GHAEILGE

Bígí linn ag Gaelathon, an chéad rás trí Ghaeilge riamh! Déan ceiliúradh ar an nGaeilge agus glac páirt i rás 5km a rith i gcroílár BÁC. Is cuma más reathaí thú a bhfuil seantaithí agat, más reathaí réchúiseach thú, nó más duine thú atá ag iarraidh an t-atmaisféar a shú isteach - tá fáilte roimh chách.

Reáchtálfar an rás i suíomh álainn i bPáirc an Fhionnuisce in aice leis an ionad stairiúil, Dún na hArmlainne. Bronnfar bonn speisialta ar gach rannpháirtí in ómós na hócáide agus beidh ceol, craic agus go leor eile ag an gcríochlíne ar an lá. Tá dromchla na slí réidh agus indéanta do gach saghas reathaí. Beidh fáilte roimh fhoghlaimeoirí Gaeilge agus daoine a bhfuil ardchaighdeán Gaeilge acu araon.
