At the Board’s annual reorganization meeting, President Streater was re-elected to a fifth term as Board President, and Vice President Andrews to a second term.

Board Member Cubbage recently served as keynote speaker at STEMposium 2025, the signature event of Philadelphia STEM Equity Week. This year’s theme, “Building Sustainable Transformative Economic Mobility Pathways,” connected with her journey from NASA engineer to educator and school leader.

Philadelphia STEM Equity Week, organized by the Philadelphia STEM Equity Collective, promotes inclusivity and opportunities in STEM for Philadelphians. The event brought together educators, innovators, and community leaders to connect, celebrate, and explore ways to expand access to STEM pathways.

The Board’s Public Hearing is Thursday, November 6th.

Huge congratulations to Board Member Joyce Wilkerson for being named a Lifetime Achievement Honoree by City and State PA. This honor celebrates her incredible leadership and impact across the Commonwealth.

The Council of the Great City Schools 69th Annual Fall Conference left us energized! Having educators, administrators, and leaders from urban districts across the country gather right here in Philadelphia to share ideas and best practices for improving outcomes for students was truly inspiring, and we’re excited to keep that momentum going.

The School District of Philadelphia Charter Schools Office invites you to participate in Project RiSE focus groups and share your feedback on how charter school performance should be defined and measured in Philadelphia.
