Young entrepreneurs from PYN’s 7 afterschool programs took the stage at Friends Hospital turning ideas into real business pitches and building skills in creativity, problem-solving, and public speaking along the way. This event was all about early career exposure—giving young people the chance to explore entrepreneurship, think like innovators, and see what’s possible for their future.

PYN is now recruiting high school–aged youth for the PYNtern Program, a summer opportunity designed to give Philadelphia students meaningful exposure to the world of work while helping them take the first steps toward their future careers.
Through the program, students participate in paid work experiences alongside structured classroom-based training, allowing them to explore career interests while developing professional skills that will serve them long after high school. PYNterns build workplace confidence, gain mentorship and coaching, and begin forming the professional habits and connections that support long-term career success.
✔ Paid work experience in a career field of interest
✔ Professional skills development and career exploration
✔ Career coaching and mentorship
✔ Practical financial literacy training
✔ Professional connections and networking
Participants can earn up to $1,500 this summer while gaining valuable real-world experience.

Philadelphia Youth Network (PYN) is now recruiting for the Professional Pathways Program — an incentivized opportunity designed to help young adults (ages 18-24) turn career potential into real professional momentum.
Participants receive intensive one-on-one career coaching, opportunities for certifications and upskilling opportunities, and access to professional networks and job application support while exploring their next career move. Eligible youth can earn up to $720 in incentives and milestones while building the skills, confidence, and connections needed for the workforce.

Last week, we gathered at the 2300 Arena for Powering Pathways - PYN’s 2nd Annual Summer Jobs Celebration, honoring the more than 300 young people who completed paid summer work experiences with PYN this year.
The action packed event was filled with inspiring remarks, youth awards, and powerful displays showcasing the skills, growth, and accomplishments of our participants.
Special thanks to our guest MC State Rep. Amen Brown, and to Council Members Kendra Brooks, Nick O’Rourke, Isaiah Thomas, and Anthony Phillips for joining us and speaking on the life-changing impact of summer jobs. And a big thank you to our event sponsors - Penn Medicine.
