TIP provides academic professional development seminars to School District of Philadelphia teachers at Penn.

The Teachers Institute of Philadelphia (TIP) offers academic professional development seminars led by Penn professors. Seminars are open to K-12 teachers from public schools in West and Southwest Philadelphia (and across the city for STEM seminars). TIP is modeled after the Yale-New Haven Teachers Institute and is part of the Yale National Initiative (http://www.teachers.yale.edu).

This past weekend, Vaux Big Picture High School student Ameen Fleming joined us at the Yale National Initiative's Annual Conference in New Haven. Ameen presented work he had done in TIP Fellow Danina Garcia's curriculum unit on Nurse Elizabeth Tyler's trailblazing efforts against tuberculosis. Link in comments.
