On Tuesday, April 28., Tacony Academy Charter School hosted a career fair with SEPTA, offering juniors and seniors a unique opportunity to explore careers in public transportation through direct engagement with industry professionals. Representatives from multiple SEPTA divisions, including Bus, Railroad, Human Resources, and Transit Police/K-9 introduced students to career pathways, training requirements, and day-to-day responsibilities across the transit system.
The event featured interactive presentations from SEPTA departments,, one-on-one engagement with professionals at informational tables, and a full-size SEPTA bus on-site, allowing students to board, explore, and experience transit operations firsthand.
This immersive experience underscores Tacony Academy’s commitment to career readiness, workforce exposure, and building strong partnerships with regional employers.

Today, we celebrate the many forms of love, strength, and care that motherhood represents.
To every mom, stepmom, grandmother, guardian, foster parent, mentor, aunt, caregiver, and all who take on motherly roles - thank you for the comfort, guidance, and support you give each day.
We also hold space for those spending today missing a mother, grieving a child, navigating loss, or carrying complicated emotions on this day. Your feelings are seen, valued, and respected.
