At the grand opening of Paley Hall, Temple Social Work and Engineering students and faculty came together to showcase a groundbreaking collaboration: the SYNC-Smart AI Assistant. 💡🤖
Led by Professors Philip McCallion, Li Bai, Lisa Ferretti, and Huanmei Wu, this project combines social work practice with engineering innovation to design an intelligent robotic companion that can support persons with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers. From medication reminders to everyday tasks, the goal is to enhance safety, autonomy, and well-being.
This work reflects Temple’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and care—bridging disciplines to create real solutions for real lives. ❤️🦉
