Come learn about blends this Thursday!

Join us for a red blends wine tasting class with Jill (), a longtime member of the Stone & Key family who has taken her passion for wine all the way to a harvest in Australia!

Over the course of the evening, you'll taste through 6 wines: 5 carefully chosen red blends plus one curveball that just might change the way you think about the category entirely.

You'll walk away knowing:

šŸ· Why winemakers blend, and what they're trying to achieve
šŸ· How to identify the signature grapes hiding in your glass
šŸ· What makes certain blends age-worthy
šŸ· How terroir and tradition shape blending decisions around the world

Limited spots!

The Sulfite Myth: Why your wine headache isn’t what you think šŸ·šŸ§Ŗ

Blaming ā€œsulfitesā€ for your red wine headache? Science says you’re probably looking at the wrong culprit.

Despite the ā€œContains Sulfitesā€ warning on almost every bottle, these tiny compounds are actually the unsung heroes of winemaking—not the enemy.

The Breakdown:

šŸ›”ļø The Bodyguards:Ā Sulfites are natural preservatives that protect wine from turning into vinegar or browning like a sliced apple.
šŸ‘ The Apricot Test:Ā A handful of dried apricots contains up toĀ 10x more sulfitesĀ than a glass of red wine. If you can eat dried fruit without a headache, sulfites aren’t your problem.
⚪ The White Wine Plot Twist: Red wine actually contains fewer sulfites than white wine, because reds have natural tannins that help with preservation.
🧠 The Real Suspects:Ā Histamines, tyramines, and evenĀ QuercetinĀ (a grape skin antioxidant) are much more likely to trigger that ā€œred wine headacheā€ than sulfites ever were.
It’s time to stop fearing the label and start looking at the chemistry.

šŸ‘‡Ā Did you used to blame sulfites for your headaches? Let’s clear up the confusion in the comments!

2ļøāƒ£ Friday, January 23rd: Music Bingo

Chris is back! This is like "Name that Tune" meets Bingo. Win Stone & Key gift cards! This event is FREE, but we ask you to honor a two drink minimum (we have plenty of non-alcs!) to keep it feasible for us to put on.

3ļøāƒ£ All January long: "Dry" January Challenge

Visit us in January and try a dry red, rosƩ, white, and cider. Try all four, get a pair of Stone & Key tasting glasses. Visit four times in January to get a Stone & Key t-shirt. Prizes can be combined.

āž”ļø Not drinking this month? No problem.
The same incentives apply if you purchase bottles to enjoy after January. We also always offer non-alcoholic options in our tasting room.

āž”ļø Why are we doing this?
January has always been a slower month, and the rise of Dry January has made it even tougher for small, independent producers and the teams who rely on tasting room sales and gratuities. This challenge helps support our staff, our space, and craft producers like us while still promoting moderation and responsible enjoyment.

All events take place at our tasting room:
57 Butler Ave, Ambler, PA
