Who would think watching a frog p*e could be educational?! Well at the of Natural Sciences on our 3rd floor, you can visit Outside In and see some really cool animals!

Sometimes you could even be lucky enough to witness this: Morbo The Destoyer (African Bullfrog) being transferred to their soaking bin so we can clean out the enclosure. Better than that, you could even see the frog’s defense mechanism of projectile urniation to deter predators and also make them lighter to escape!

Wild right?! You never know what’s gonna happen here at the museum, and the guests up in OI definitely got a huge kick out of seeing this all happen in real time!

at was epic! I only saw a few outfits by the students but I was so impressed with each and every one! I heard there even was an outfit made out of a TENT?! YASSS this hiker approves!

Amazing job everyone! I’m sorry I couldn’t stay the whole time but trust me I was blown away even just the few minutes I was there.

Someone wanna design a fossil jacket for next year?! 🤪

Someone wanna design a fossil jacket for Garbage Gala next year?! 🤪

Honestly I could sit here all day and watch the drama unfold between the geese, see ducks skimming for food, swallows diving for bugs, and red wing black birds make robot noises. I LOVE BIRDS SO MUCH! I love all wildlife and nature but birds really do hold a special place in my heart.

I will say I was very disappointed no birds dived for me since I had a shirt with various insects on it! I did get pooped on by a bird so that was good!

Our thermal features will definitely make an impression on you - please don't leave an impression on them!

Not only is it illegal to damage or walk on Yellowstone's thermal features, but it is also dangerous to touch them. Stepping off designated boardwalks and trails has unfortunately hurt and killed people in the past. Even if it's not visible from the surface, boiling water can be just below a thermal feature's thin, breakable crust!

Protect yourself and help us protect Yellowstone's treasured hot springs, pools, and geysers by staying on the boardwalk or trail in thermal areas.

It’s almost firefly season! ✨

Hoping to see synchronous fireflies at Elkmont? Enter the lottery on Recreation.gov between April 24 at 10 a.m. (EDT) and April 27 at 11:59 p.m. (EDT) for your chance at a vehicle reservation. This year's viewing period is May 20-27.

During the viewing period, hundreds of visitors gather near Elkmont to watch Photinus carolinus, a firefly species known for its synchronous flashing. The park limits access to the Elkmont area during the eight-day period of predicted peak firefly activity to ease traffic, keep visitors safe and protect the fireflies during their mating season.

Apply, cross your fingers, and get ready for one of the Smokies’ most spectacular sights!

In the works now for a month, but it’s right around the corner!

Join me and my coworker, Buddy, at Philadelphia on April 22nd for a special FREE event! Starting at 6pm, the last episode of the documentary series “The Dinosaurs” will screen in TUDUM Theatre at NHP. Right after the episode ends, Buddy and I will be on stage to talk all about palaeontology, answer questions we pooled from the public, and do some live Q&A! We’ll have some real fossils, some casts, and a lot of excitement to talk about the science that makes it possible to create documentaries just like this!

I’m pretty stoked, so if you’re in the Philly area, come check us out! Again, it’s a feee event but registration is required. They usually overbooo events and tickets do not guarantee seats.

When: April 22nd
Where: Netflix House Philadelphia
Time: 6pm

I love Muttaburrasaurus now more than ever. I haven’t even begun to read the 211 page paper. But I did rush to page 126 to see this INCREDIBLE restoration.

But for real this paper is epic and filled with cool science I can’t wait to read about! I love dinosaurs.
