Samuel S. Fleisher explained his vision: "Thousands of young people toil during the day whose lives are unavoidably cast upon a background of routine and sameness — the world’s work must be done — to them should be offered pastures where beauty and inspiration may be gathered, places where rich and poor alike may give expression to their finer emotions — playgrounds for the soul.”
Throughout our 127-year history, Sam's founding promise hasn’t changed. We believe that art belongs to everyone and that creativity is a birthright. We are committed to keeping our playground for the soul open to everyone.
Our fiscal year ends June 30. If you’ve been waiting to give this spring, today is the day: fleisher.org/springappeal

In 1898, Samuel Fleisher made an ambitious promise: art belongs to everyone.
Today, we uphold that promise by hosting free classes for children and adults, offering scholarships for emerging artists, mounting diverse exhibitions year-round, and hosting multilingual community programming.
As we close out our fiscal year, the work of keeping that promise depends on a community who believes in our work.
If you are able, please give before June 30.

How do artists get inspiration and find their creative voice? This question is the central theme of artist Jessica Barrera's CPA residency with 3rd-5th grade students participating in .association 's afterschool program at John H. Taggart School. In Jessica's residency, our creative students have been putting a pop culture spin on traditional art school foundations, and integrated some of their favorite characters as well as cultural references into their charcoal still lives.
