Part of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and located in the Torresdale section of the city, St. Katherine opened its doors to students in 1938 and has since grown to be a cornerstone of Catholic education in the area. Katherine of Siena School is dedicated to simultaneously upholding high acad

Our principal, staff and faculty members are committed to providing a top quality, twenty-first century learning environment that prepares students to succeed in high school, college and for the rest of their lives. At the same time, we ensure that Christ remains at the center of everything we do. The Catholic faith is the foundation for all learning that takes place at St. Katherine and is not only taught in religion class, but through the integration of gospel values into everyday word and action. Katherine receives a comprehensive education that includes weekly classes in technology, music, physical education and library. With a fully equipped computer lab, library, gymnasium and music room, our students are given the tools and space needed to embrace these weekly learning opportunities and develop their talents and skills in each area. To supplement learning in the classroom, St. Katherine of Siena offers numerous extracurricular activities including Student Council, Abrakadoodle Arts Program, New Samaritans, Chime Choir, Archdiocesan Choir, Parish Youth Ministry, Alter Servers, Annual School Musical, and the St. Additionally, our school has seven CYO sports: basketball, soccer, baseball, softball, track, volleyball and swimming. Katherine of Siena School not only has the curriculum for a quality academic education, but the resources to maximize its potential. Every member of our faculty is college educated; many have masters’ degrees in specialized areas of instruction. Technology is incorporated into everyday learning through the use of portable laptops for students as well as a Smartboard for every classroom. We provide extra learning support with a Reading Specialist, comprehensive CORA services and a Resource Room. These programs ensure that every student receives the help he or she needs and succeeds academically at all grade levels. Katherine of Siena School, we continually challenge our faculty, staff and students to stay ahead of the curve. Academic excellence and spiritual growth are at the forefront of the education we provide; by choosing St. Katherine of Siena, families never have to sacrifice one for the other. With Christ as our center, we strive to help students excel academically and prepare them with the skills they need in the present, for the future.
