The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration that highlights the importance of early childhood education and the needs of young children and their families. It recognizes the critical role that educators, caregivers, and communities play in shaping a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Throughout the week, activities and events focus on promoting creativity, social development, and healthy growth in young children while also raising awareness about the value of high-quality early learning experiences.

Today at Grays Ferry Early Learning Academy, our students and staff proudly participated in Mixed Match Sock Day to celebrate and raise awareness for World Down Syndrome Day coming up on March 21, 2026! 🧦💙💛

By wearing colorful, mismatched socks, we’re celebrating uniqueness, promoting inclusion, and showing that differences make our community stronger. Our classrooms were filled with bright patterns, big smiles, and meaningful conversations about kindness and acceptance.

We’re so proud of our students for embracing this important message and stepping up to spread awareness in such a fun and creative way!
