InLiquid Art + Design at The Yard: Center City presents The Face of Another which highlights the work of five artists, Chris Curchin, Barbara Dirnbach, Sharon Egan, Barbara Shelly, Joe Vescovich, whose respective bodies of works involve portraiture. Over the past year, many of us have been distanced from others, from our neighbors, our colleges, our friends, and even our family. Now, as society slowly starts opening up again, The Face of Another invites us to reacquaint ourselves with the friendly sights of strangers whether on the bus, in a domestic setting, or even in our place of work, and reminds us that we as a society are stronger together.
This exhibition will be on view through August 15, 2021, at The Yard: Center City, Floors 2-5 (21 S. 11th Street, Philadelphia, PA).

In a new exhibition from InLiquid Art + Design, the artists of Disentangled Yesterday explore various forms of mark-making. Adam Erlbaum‘s and Zoë Lukas’s abstract paintings experiment with layering, adding, and subtracting their patterns and shapes until a cohesive work is created. Cara Roberts uses her development as a woman of color to inform her patterned and gridded artwork that depicts an array of colors and the silhouettes of women. Stuart Lehrman‘s photos may seem less abstract by examining the marks on the pavement, but his up-close-and-personal views distort these supposedly familiar markings to create a new interpretation.
These four artists’ formidable talents regarding their use of color and perspective have culminated in a show as vibrant as it is captivating.
