The young leaders in Project 440's Spring 2026 Doing Good cohort created six service projects to address needs in neighborhoods and communities throughout Philadelphia. Projects focused on reducing loneliness among Seniors through creative expression, conversation and music making (Golden Stories); providing starter care kits for households that are fostering pets (Paws for a Purpose); sustaining culinary traditions by sharing food and recipes from diverse cultures (Kitchen Archives); expanding access to clothing that is both resilient and stylish (Sturdy Style); improving transparency around school security (Tereti Tenageri - Speak Stories); and addressing food insecurity in West Philadelphia (West Philly Care Day).
Thank you to the generous supporters of the Doing Good program, including: The Nelson Foundation, Philadelphia Foundation The Presser Foundation, and Philadelphia Cultural Fund.

On May 9, our PROJECT 440 community, including our young leaders, staff, Board of Directors, partners, and supporters, gathered at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts for Celebrate Our Founder, honoring Joseph Conyers on the occasion of his Soloist debut with The Philadelphia Orchestra.
The celebration included a reception in the Hamilton Garden. Our young leaders took center stage to share reflections on their Project 440 experiences, and Gavin Hardy, a Curtis Institute of Music double bassist, performed Sam Suggs's Three EDM Caprices.
In recognition of Joe's contributions to Philadelphia as an artist, educator, and youth mentor, and Project 440's award-winning creative career-connected programming for Philadelphia youth, Mayor Cherelle L. Parker proclaimed May 9, 2026, Project 440 Founder's Day!
Thank you to all our partners, supporters, and sponsors, including The Philadelphia Orchestra and Ensemble Arts Philly, Curtis Institute of Music, and Klehr Harrison. Learn more and make a gift in honor of Joe Conyers: https://project440.org/celebratejosephconyers
