When we give Black, Brown and first-generation students real opportunities, our city thrives.
This February, Heights participated in a week of action led by Black Lives Matter at School, a coalition organizing for racial justice in education. Students engaged in social media challenges, daily reflection prompts, lesson plans, and events discussing racial injustice.
Join us next Wednesday, February 22nd at 3:30pm for a conversation with Black/African/African-American identifying Heights alumni as they share their experiences navigating post-graduate life. To register for this virtual event, visit: bit.ly/HeightsBAP2023

“I look forward to having a larger imprint on the city. The work we do is expansive and impactful, so being able to grow our presence and serve more kids will result in a better Philadelphia!”
This week’s is Robin Eli, our Director of Middle Grades and Summer Bridge. She joined Steppingstone Scholars during the summer of 2018. Robin attended SUNY Brockport for her undergraduate degree and received her Master's in Urban Education from Temple University. Robin is a proud Rochester, NY native.
Heights programming creates pathways beginning in middle school to college and career. Robin leads our Middle Grades and Summer Bridge programming, which is an opportunity for students in 8th grade to engage in summer programming that helps to prepare them for the transition to high school.
This time of year is also an exciting time for 8th graders in Philadelphia. They have been receiving the results of their high school applications and are committing to the school of their choice. The Middle Grades team is working hard to continue to help 8th graders by advising them through their options in order to find the best fit high school for them.
