Still catching up on our busy spring season! Next up: memories from the annual Sakura Cherry Blossom Festival in Philly's beautiful Fairmount Park!
Temps were a wee chilly, and the cherry blossoms were waiting to burst open (sadly, not that weekend!), but we had a blast and as always, energized by a great audience who warmed us up with their enthusiasm. Happy Spring!

A little late to the party, and still catching up on sharing about the most recent performances in Philly!
Thanks to the Free Library of Philadelphia , KyoDaiko had the pleasure and honor to, once again, perform at its Chinese New Year celebration last month. As always, the energy and enthusiasm of the audience fills us with joy! And the acoustics of that beautiful space was the icing on the cake!

It was an intensive and transformative evening, learning and playing with two members of TaikoProject, who took time from their national tour to stop in our great city of Philly to work with members of KyoDaiko!
Thank you, Masato (Maz) Baba and Doug Sakamoto for your guidance, feedback, and very helpful instruction! We so thoroughly enjoyed our time with you!

The rain held off for everyone last week, allowing for a day-long celebration of Lunar New Year and the year of the horse!
Thank you, the Rail Park, for inviting KyoDaiko to participate in this day of celebration!

First "fundamentals of Taiko" (aka beginner classes) of 2026 will begin on March 5!
Classes are held weekly, on Thursday evenings, from 7:30-9pm. Great way to shake out the winter blues and get some Taiko rhythms going after these long, cold months!

First performance of 2026!
What a "sweet" time we had, playing for a crowd of children, adults and families at Hershey's Chocolate World, to celebrate Lunar New Year!
We were excited to be invited back to warm up the room with Taiko energy while the temps outside were soooooo cold!! ❄️❄️

We have just a couple of spots open for the workshop, so reach out if you're interested in joining us, this Sunday (January 11) at 3pm!

Well, the "last Taiko Taster of 2025" was snowed out, so here's another opportunity to experience the joy of Taiko drumming with KyoDaiko while (maybe) working off some winter blues!
