The weather is going to be dry, cooler and the air in center city will surely be filled with excitement during this year's Barnes on the Block celebration, this Sunday, July 12 !
Check out all of the activities and performances that will be offered throughout the day- all free and open to the p***c! KyoDaiko will be playing from 2-2:30pm on the outside Parkway area in the back of the Barnes Museum! Can't wait!

Wrapped up the spring-into-summer season with a great recital to showcase the skills developed during the past many months in the fundamentals and intermediate classes. They all did an amazing job performing for an audience of friends and family!
Fundamentals classes will resume in September with a couple of Taiko Taster workshops during the summer months. Reach out for more info if you're interested!

Thank you, Friends Central Lower School, for inviting KyoDaiko to fill the room with good Taiko energy, helped along with the enthusiasm and excitement of the young audience members! It's wonderful how the littlest attendees sometimes bring the BIGGEST energy! We sure hope that we've inspired some future Taiko players amongst them!

Still catching up on our busy spring season! Next up: memories from the annual Sakura Cherry Blossom Festival in Philly's beautiful Fairmount Park!
Temps were a wee chilly, and the cherry blossoms were waiting to burst open (sadly, not that weekend!), but we had a blast and as always, energized by a great audience who warmed us up with their enthusiasm. Happy Spring!

A little late to the party, and still catching up on sharing about the most recent performances in Philly!
Thanks to the Free Library of Philadelphia , KyoDaiko had the pleasure and honor to, once again, perform at its Chinese New Year celebration last month. As always, the energy and enthusiasm of the audience fills us with joy! And the acoustics of that beautiful space was the icing on the cake!

It was an intensive and transformative evening, learning and playing with two members of TaikoProject, who took time from their national tour to stop in our great city of Philly to work with members of KyoDaiko!
