Last week was the third annual Jefferson Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education (JCIPE) Recognition Ceremony.

We are excited to share that the 2026 individual student award for Excellence in Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice was presented to Jefferson College of Pharmacy student pharmacist, Tanya Abillar. Tanya has participated extensively in JCIPE programming including the Interprofessional Palliative Care Program, the Jefferson Student Interprofessional Complex Care Collaborative, and Community Voices where she served as a moderator and helped facilitate a conversation with a community member surrounding housing insecurity and opioid use disorder. Congratulations to Tanya!

JCP student pharmacists, Mayra Himel and Mauli Maniar were also presented with Certificates of Excellence in Team-Based Practice. This certificate is intended for students who distinguish themselves through deeper engagement in interprofessional activities and growth of collaborative teamwork skills. Congratulations to Mayra and Mauli!

Additionally, Drs. Amber King, Emily Scopelliti, Emily Hajjar, Faith Sears, and Dylan Zuch were all recognized for their time and dedication to JCIPE events and initiatives. Thank you for all you do!

Having the opportunity to collaborate with so many other health professions programs is one of the things that makes Jefferson so special! Outstanding work, everyone!

Earlier this Spring, Jefferson College of Pharmacy attended the Pennsylvania Society of Health-System Pharmacists 2026 Annual Meeting. Students were able to network and learn from pharmacists across the state.

Congratulations to Tanya Abillar, Monika Szeliga, Kait Pham, Janvi Morker, Shruti Patel, and their mentor Dr. Ruth Jeminiwa who shared their research on opioid use disorder at the poster session! Tanya also presented on implementation of a regulatory pharmacy internship. Well done!

The event would not be complete without the annual fun of Pharmacy Jeopardy! We cheered on our Jefferson team of Arooj Fatima, Niki Layne Bautista, and Monika Szeliga.

Looking forward to coming back next year!
