So enjoyed giving the Walter N. Ridley Distinguished Annual Scholar Lecture at the University of Virginia (UVA). Dr. Walter Ridley was the first African American in the US to receive a doctoral degree from a Southern White College or University. Thanks to Dr. Stephanie Rowley (Dean), Dr. LaRon Scott (Associate Dean), and Assistant Professor Dr. Wintre Foxworth (PennGSE alum), and the staff, students, and faculty of the UVA Graduate School of Education and Human Development. Wonderful engaging conversations on racial literacy and how to fight back against HATE. https://bit.ly/48T1Rgt The Racial Empowerment Collaborative The Lion's Story

What is CLCBE?
During racial stress, use it as a way to regulate your emotions:
Calculate: what are three feelings you’re experiencing? How intensely are you feeling them?
Locate: locate where in your body you feel those feelings. What does it feel like?
Communicate: what thoughts come to mind while processing events? What images do you see?
Breathe: inhale slowly for 4 seconds
Exhale: exhale slowly for 6 seconds
