Drexel Aero SAE is a student organization with aims of fostering aerospace interest, design, and enthusiasm at a university level.

The Drexel University chapter of the Aeronautical Society of Automotive Engineers is a student organization with aims of fostering aerospace interest, design, and enthusiasm at a university level. Our primary focus is an annual SAE hosted competition to design, build, and fly a remotely operated aircraft to complete certain competition goals. Designing ribs to be laser cut for next meeting. We’re using the n11 airfoil with a 200mm chord. Next week we will be using these ribs to assemble the wings. Thursday, 7PM in the MEM UG lab. Feel free to message with any questions.

We’re very close to finishing the plane and will be ready to fly after next week’s meeting!

Today, the 31st, we will finish up the installation of the avionics and other electronics to the Talon plane. Right now we are planning on meeting on Saturday the 11th of August at 11 AM for our fly day.

Electronics are wired on “the duck”. After some minor adjustments we’ll be ready to do some gliding test flights.

Next week we will be listening to a senior design group that just competed in the Aero SAE competition.
