A critical message from Larry R. Kaiser, MD, FACS, FCPP, President and CEO of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia:
“The College of Physicians of Philadelphia condemns the violence that occurred at Wilmington Hospital in Delaware.
Healthcare workers experience nearly five times more violence in the workplace than in other industries, and evidence suggests that many incidents go unreported. Violence against healthcare professionals should not be an inevitable part of the job. Every member of the healthcare workforce deserves a safe environment in which to care for patients and communities.
We urge policymakers, hospitals, and health systems to strengthen protections for healthcare workers, support evidence-based workplace violence prevention programs, and ensure that healthcare organizations have the resources needed to assess risks, improve reporting systems, and respond effectively to threats and incidents. We further urge these organizations to create workplace cultures where every individual is encouraged and supported to seek mental health services when needed.
Healthcare workers save lives every day, and we need to ensure theirs are equally prioritized.”

A historic honor! We are thrilled to receive the Landmark Building Award from AIA Philadelphia. This award recognizes the quality and quantity of important historic structures in Philadelphia, as well as the role of architects in shaping our built environment.
The Beaux-Arts building, home to The College of Physicians of Philadelphia since 1909, was honored for its "halls with rococo ceilings, an elegant library dedicated to the history of medicine, and the renowned Mütter Museum."
Members of our team attended a special ceremony hosted by the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia to accept the award.
