This monday PSSOC is hosting our final guest speaker of the semester Jim Schultz! He is coming to have a conversation on working in government and law school. We’re super excited to have him with us. Come on out at 6 pm to the 4th floor of gladfelter. We hope to see you all there!

!! Upcoming Event !! On Monday, April 4th we’re hosting an Alumni Networking Event with the Political Science Department. Whether your graduating this semester or in the next few years, this event is an opportunity to connect with Temple Alumni who work in and around the tri state area. This more relaxed event allows you to practice your elevator pitch, learn more about potential job fields, and open you up to future internship or job opportunities. We already have a number of Alumni who’ve RSVP’d and excited for the chance to speak with current Temple students. If you are interested, please RSVP through the QR code or link in our BIO. The Political Science Society is excited to announce we are hosting a symposium next Wednesday, April 6th on combatting gun violence. We are incredibly lucky to have three guest speakers, Quinzel Tomoney and Shakia Fudge from Cure Violence Philadelphia and our very own Dr. Caterina Roman from the Criminal Justice Department. We know so many of you have wanted to discuss gun violence and it’s increasing presence in our community at PSSOC meetings. And with the recent impact gun violence has had on our organization we wanted to put together this symposium to promote a safe space, and allow for an educated and comprehensive discussion with experts. The event starts at 6 PM on Wednesday, April 6th. It’ll be held in Tuttleman Learning Center, Room 103. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out. We hope to see you there!

This week PSSOC is discussing international trade and oil dependence. The current international events effecting oil supplies should spark an interesting discussion tonight! We hope to see you all there at 6PM in the fourth floor fishbowl of gladfelter.

This Wednesday, PSSOC is teaming up with to sponsor a forum on the russian ukraine war. Professors within the department will be joining us on the panel to share their expertise on this topic and lead a lively discussion. This event is in place of our general body meeting so we will not be holding anything tonight. We’re super excited for this event and hope to see you all there!

Tonight! We have trivia before the GBM outside of the fishbowl. There will be prizes for the top three winners! After trivia night we will be discussing gerrymandering and the potential effects of the redistricting in 2022. Come on out to share your thoughts and hear what others thing! Hope to see you there.

Tonight we’re discussing Joe Rogan and the controversy that has been in the headlines recently over his relationship with spotify.
