Shine Bright Academy LLC

Shine Bright Academy LLC Shine Bright Academy LLC mission is to build bright minds for a bright future. Located in Elmwood Pl I am the Owner and Director of Shine Bright Academy LLC.

I have been in child care for a total of 9.5 years. When I had my first son it made me realize how important education and quality child care is- so I decided to get involved. Turns out that I love it. I love helping people, teaching people and watching them grow into productive adults. My resume included Step by Step child care and learning center (The best Delaware County has) and Rising Stars Child Care and Learning Center (was the best in Southwest Philadelphia). I decided in 2014 that I wanted to open my own Child Development Centers and I partnered with my mother and Co-Owner Michelle Artis to do so. My mother has over 15 year customer service experience. Many of you may know her as Ms. Michelle the manager from Dress Barn Inc. in Penrose Plaza for 10 years. She's a complete people person ,not to mention advocate for the community and youth, she's mommom the clown and ready to embark on this journey with me.Our roots have been planted in Southwest Philadelphia for the last 12 years- what better places to give our child what they deserve than here. The first 5 years of our children's young lives are the most important. My goal is to teach them everything they will need to one day thrive as PRODUCTIVE men and women. This requires dedication, education, hard work and a hands-on approach. Not only will they learn academics, they will learn about morals , values, friendship, problem solving, being independent, being free to explore, how to work in a group and one-on-one. We will nurture the development and their mind!!!

FUN DAY IN THE CITY. I love Center City and spent most of my life working there. As a child I’ve went on school trips to The Franklin Institute , Independence Hall ,Penns Landing , City Hall and Art Museum . I’m the NUMBER ONE TOUR GUIDE from Market St. to Society Hill and Rittenhouse Square. Someone said to me yesterday.. You don’t see black kids coming down here anymore. They don’t come down here on field trips. She was a Septa woman. She came out the booth to talk to me for half a hour. Wanted to know where we were from and was really shocked that we were walking through City Hall . lol
Well they’ll be going down there all summer and learning things some grown adults don’t know.
Did you know Market St. was named that because it was the market? Race St. had races. The others were named after trees.. Chestnut, Walnut, Spruce, Pine…etc. Who knows why it was named Front St. instead of 1st? Who was John Wanaker? My kids know ALL THIS STUFF
