Thank you for your loyal following. Now that we are one community (Springside Chestnut Hill Academy), we have decided to merge the SS and CHA accounts into one alumni page. Of course, we will still continue to highlight our fabulous Springside School and Chestnut Hill Academy alumni and share your stories here. Our legacy schools mean everything to the SCHool we are today!

This past weekend, SCH welcomed over 600 alumni back on campus, ranging from classes of 1942 through 2017. The campus was bustling with school tours, Alumni Awards, alumni vs SCH student athletic games, book signings, our traditional Friday Night Cocktails, and Saturday Night Dinner. We also hosted our first-annual, Black Alumni Brunch at the Jennings House and Alumni Playdate on the McCausland campus—don’t worry if you missed these, they will become a yearly tradition during Alumni weekend for years to come!

Alumni Weekend 2021! Virtual events, in-person events - we had it all! Thank you to everyone that tuned in via zoom or attended our 300+ person cocktail party on Saturday night. Here are a few of our candids from Saturday evening. More photos to follow in the upcoming week.

SCH's Board of Trustees has selected Dr. Delvin M. Dinkins to be the next head of school for Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, effective July 2022.

As Board of Trustees Chair Patrick Lindsay describes, "SCH has found an inspiring and thoughtful leader who meets all of the personal and professional characteristics we sought and more. He possesses a strong theoretical, as well as practical academic knowledge, supported by multiple degrees, including an Ed.D. in educational and organizational leadership from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in educational studies from the University of Michigan.

Dr. Dinkins’ thoughtful style of leadership is characterized by a collaborative and inclusive approach. He has described himself as a 'bridge builder, bringing people together and cultivating well-being.' At his core, he believes in the 'potential of people to do great things and the promise of school to change lives.' "

We look forward to welcoming Dr. Dinkins and his wife Davirah to our community in July 2022.

Blue & Gold Day 2021. We had to pivot from the traditional day in the fall but it was a sunny, fun filled spring day and our students still decorated, picked a theme and dressed up in their best blue and gold spirit wear! Congratulations to the BLUE TEAM for the win! Shout out our Blue & Gold senior captions that were on the field all day cheering on their teams!!

The Inter-Ac and Independent School Black Alumni Association (IISBAA), consisting of members from 14 Philadelphia-area independent schools, is thrilled to announce the first in a series of panels that have been curated for our community of schools, “A Conversation with Game Changers in the New Civil Rights Era” on Wednesday, April 28 at 7:00 PM.
