For Ms. Jacketti's Primary class, the theme for May is all about money. Students are learning about earning, spending and saving money, and they're putting what they learn into action.
The students found a recipe for meatballs, identified the ingredients and the cost of each ingredient, and planned a budget. They shopped for their ingredients at the Italian Market on South 9th Street and brought their purchases back to school and enjoyed a spaghetti and meatball lunch the next day!

Volunteers from Chubb, J. Crew, Keystone and the National Constitution Center joined OSB on campus recently for Corporate Volunteer Day. Led by OSB Horticulture Therapist Rich Matteo, the group used wheelbarrows to transport mulch around the orchard and shovels to place the mulch around trees and in garden beds. Thank you to all our volunteers who were happy to help, even in the rain! Get involved with OSB: https://www.obs.org/support-us/index.cfm

At Overbrook School for the Blind, we know growth doesn't happen alone. For DeAngelo, a deafblind student in OSB's Secondary Program, growth is shared with his intervener, Kim. DeAngelo and Kim have built a strong relationship over the last three years as Kim has worked one-on-one to provide a stable learning environment for DeAngelo. With your support, we can help more students with visual and other impairments find the resources they need to succeed. Students at Overbrook School for the Blind experienced a time they'll never forget at this year's Prom. For many, it was more than just a dance, but a celebration of their independence, friendship and confidence in a space designed just for them. OSB works hard to create opportunities to empower students, but we can't do it alone.
