Join us in congratulating Professor Gertz on her new full-time faculty position in the Fashion Design Department! ✨🎉
Professor Gertz has been an adjunct member of our Fashion Design Faculty since 2024. She is a patternmaker, designer, and educator with experience across the fashion and costume design industries. Ruby is the founder of Slow Fashion Academy and has received recognition including the FSF Geoffrey Beene National Fashion Scholarship, the GPCA Creative Entrepreneur Accelerator Grant, and the Philadelphia Catalyst Fund Grant. Her freelance work has appeared on Saturday Night Live, at the Academy Awards, the Metropolitan Opera, American Ballet Theatre, and in off-Broadway productions. She has designed for projects ranging from theme parks and cruise lines to independent theater and music videos. Ruby is particularly passionate about size-inclusive design and serving the plus-size market.
