Dr. Lucas presented “How Does Knowledge of Medical Cannabis Impact Its Use In Skilled Nursing Facilities?” at the Eastern Pennsylvania Geriatrics Society Research Night and took home the top non-physician award!

Step into the role of a pharmacist through hands-on activities, interactive demonstrations, and conversations with practicing professionals, alumni, and current students. Ideal for those curious about PharmD pathways and patient care careers.

𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠: 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (June 24th is full, EXTRA DATE ADDED —> June 25th!)

Preparations are underway for the Marvin Samson Museum for the History of Pharmacy’s upcoming exhibition on pharmacy in Philadelphia since 1776—and the space is already coming to life!

Last week, nine Saint Joseph’s volunteers began painting a new mural that will serve as the exhibition backdrop, using methylene blue as the medium. Known in healthcare as a diagnostic stain and treatment for methemoglobinemia, methylene blue dates back to its origins as a textile dye in 1876 Germany and its later role in malaria research by Paul Ehrlich. Now, it is being used in a new way to trace the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers across our museum walls!

We are proud to share that the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy at Saint Joseph’s University has earned the 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿-𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 in the 2026 National Consumers League (NCL) Script Your Future Team Challenge!

Through student-led initiatives focused on medication adherence and patient education, our team reached over 1,000 patients across Philadelphia and southern New Jersey. Efforts included patient counseling at IPPE sites, interprofessional Health Promoter events serving underserved communities, and distribution of 360 medication support kits through our annual Brown Bag program.

Special recognition to our outstanding student leaders: Kurt Zaballero (Operations Chair), Matthieu Nguyen (Head of Finance), Janice Ng (Head of Social Media/Design), Laura Tran (Event Coordinator), and Andrew Nguyen (P1 Representative).

Congratulations to the other Schools of Pharmacy on their recognition and thank you to the National Consumers League for this honor and for advancing medication adherence nationwide!
