The Franklin School of Science and Arts, of center city Philadelphia, PA, was founded by Israel Zamost in the early 20th century.

The school's curricula included medical technology, X-ray technology, dental technology and medical secretaryship. Its most famous alumnus is actress Bea Arthur (Maude). Bea Arthur (born Beatrice Frankel) was the champion of civil rights and served as a benefactor of many charities.
