This Indigenous Peoples’ Day, NSC honors the histories, cultures, and enduring contributions of Native Americans and all Indigenous peoples.

As an organization dedicated to welcoming newcomers, we recognize the importance of learning about the original stewards of the lands we call home, amplifying Indigenous voices, and supporting Indigenous rights.

Together, we can build communities rooted in dignity, respect, and belonging.

On July 30th, Brianna Andrews, the Survivors of Torture Senior Manager and Therapist, presented at the 9th Annual Philadelphia Trauma Training Conference on Providing Trauma-Informed Care to Immigrant Survivors of Torture. Through opportunities like this, we are able to raise awareness about NSC's important work while also training other professionals on best practices when working cross culturally with individuals who have compounded trauma. Connections made with participants strengthen our networks and resources to support clients.

The Philadelphia Partnership for Resilience Program (PPR) works with immigrant survivors of torture. It is through the many referrals and partners we work with that we are able to holistically support clients in reaching their multifaceted goals. We would like to take a moment to thank them for all they do! If you are interested in learning more, please check out our website: https://nscphila.org/philadelphia-partnership-resilience-ppr
