For my last day at Tyler, I'm gonna get on my soapbox here and say...
Short answer: YES!
Long answer: HELL YES!
Riding public transportation is probably the single best thing an individual can all do to combat climate change. I've spent more years of my life living without a car than with one. I have one now, but most of the time I use my bus pass. The car is reserved for grocery/laundry trips. The only reason I own it is because I inherited it.
For most of my adult years in Silicon Valley and Seattle, I used buses and bikes to get around. It wasn't till I moved to Virginia (Richmond) that I bought a car, and only because their racist (yes, racist, but that's too long for a post) public transportation system was a joke and I couldn't do things I needed to do on it. When my $500 car died here in Philly I did not replace it.
Let's help others get on this bandwagon and make public transportation free. /soapbox
