At our Training Center, we’re proud to help prepare the next generation of skilled tradespeople to carry on that tradition. The future of our trade is built through hard work, quality training, and pride in the craft.

Hard work and determination pays off! We love seeing our apprentices put in the extra effort, hit the books, and study hard to earn industry-recognized certifications.

Another great accomplishment and another step forward in their careers. Congratulations on a job well done! 💪🔧

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming this year’s Heavy Metal Summer Experience to our training center to learn firsthand about the sheet metal trade!

Headlined by Ernest D. Menold Inc., this group of local high school students got the opportunity to experience what our trade is all about. After fabricating ductwork in Menold’s shop, the students brought their work to our training center, where they were tasked with reading blueprints and installing the ductwork themselves!

We also had the chance to introduce them to some of the many different sides of our trade, including AutoCAD, welding, and testing and balancing.

We’re incredibly proud to have been a part of this year’s Heavy Metal Summer Experience and to help introduce the next generation to the opportunities available in the skilled trades.

This was an amazing group of students, and we can’t wait to see where their futures take them!

This year, we introduced a new tradition for our 4th Year Apprentices: the Legacy Project.

Each graduating class is challenged to design and build something that will stay in our training center for future apprentices to learn from and remember them by. It's an opportunity to leave a lasting impact on the program and give back to the next generation.

These first two classes truly embraced the challenge and knocked it out of the park. Their creativity, craftsmanship, and teamwork are on full display, and their projects will be a lasting part of our training center for years to come.

Outstanding work by both classes; we can't wait to see what future apprentices add to this new tradition!

Congratulations to our two newest ICB Certified Technicians, Evan Joyce and Jaimie Kurz!
Both recently passed the TABB Technician Certification Exam, a significant accomplishment that reflects their hard work, dedication, and technical knowledge.

We are proud of everything they have achieved and look forward to seeing their continued success in the sheet metal industry. Congratulations, Evan and Jaimie, on earning this outstanding certification!

Our 4th-year apprentices recently finished their copper birdhouses! A staple project here at Local 19, these birdhouses are always something our 4th-year apprentices look forward to completing.

As they prepare to graduate and become journeymen, they can look back with pride on a project that showcases the craftsmanship, patience, and skills they've developed throughout their apprenticeship. Congratulations to this year's class on another great group of finished birdhouses!

A huge thank you to Ernest D. Menold Inc. for hosting our 3rd-year apprentices and giving them the opportunity to see firsthand how a specialty sheet metal shop operates.
We truly appreciate your continued support of our apprenticeship program and your willingness to invest in the next generation of sheet metal workers. Experiences like these give our apprentices valuable insight into the trade and a better understanding of the opportunities that lie ahead.

A huge thank you to all of our retirees who took the time to spend part of their day with our 2nd-year apprentices.

Your stories, experiences, and advice are invaluable. Hearing firsthand about your careers, the lessons you've learned, and the pride you've taken in the trade gives our apprentices a perspective that simply can't be taught in a classroom.

Thank you for helping pass on the knowledge, traditions, and professionalism that make our trade so strong. We truly appreciate your willingness to invest in the next generation of sheet metal workers!
