Moyamensing Avenue will be CLOSED TOMORROW on Friday, May 29th for the Jenks Fun Fair.

Please plan for alternate routes and allow additional time for drop off and pick up throughout the day.

A few Fun Fair reminders for families:
☀️ Apply sunscreen before school
💦 Some activities may involve water, so students could get wet
👕 Consider packing a change of clothes and/or towel

Important reminder:

💙 The HSA is purchasing a shirt for EVERY current A.S. Jenks student, so caregivers do NOT need to purchase a shirt for their student(s).

Shirts are available for family members, friends, and supporters who want to celebrate our amazing school and student creativity!

🎨 Huge congratulations to our incredible Jenks artists!

We are so proud to share that A.S. Jenks students were recognized in the Philadelphia School District’s 70th Annual Art Show 🎉

Out of 218 schools and more than 3,000 submitted pieces of artwork, only 17 elementary students across the district received individual awards… and Jenks received TWO of them!

👏 Congratulations to:
✨ Dennis Potts for winning the CASA Art Award
✨ Henry Uy for winning the Delta Sigma Theta Award

What an incredible accomplishment and a beautiful reflection of the creativity, talent, and hard work of our students.

We also want to celebrate all of the Jenks artists who participated in this special exhibit. Having artwork selected for the district show is an achievement in itself, and we are so proud of every student who shared their creativity with the community.

A special thank you to Ms. Remer for supporting and encouraging our young artists every step of the way 💙

Join us Friday, May 29th as we celebrate the end of another incredible school year with one of our favorite Jenks traditions. The Fun Fair is all about celebrating our students, bringing our community together, and letting the kids have an unforgettable day of fun.

✨ This year’s Fun Fair includes:
• Bigger carnival-style games
• Activities and crafts
• The return of the student-favorite photobooth
• Pizza for students and guests
• Popcorn, cotton candy, and Famous Italian’s Water Ice
• Music, energy, and lots of fun

Families and siblings are warmly invited to attend during your child’s scheduled time:
🎡 K–2: 9:30–11 AM
🎡 3–5: 12–1:30 PM

We are also still looking for volunteers and accepting donations to help make this event extra special for our kids. Every bit of support helps bring more fun, activities, and memorable moments to the day.

Our annual Fun Fair is coming up on Friday, May 29th and we need your help to make this day extra special for our students!

We’re looking for volunteers to help with:
🎯 Games & activities
🍿 Food stations
🎨 Crafts
🎵 General support
🪧 Setup & cleanup

The day will be split into two groups:
☀️ K–2 in the morning
🌈 3–5 in the afternoon

You do NOT need to volunteer all day. Even an hour helps and the more volunteers we have, the smoother and more fun the day will be for everyone.

This event is such a fun celebration of all the hard work our students have done throughout the school year and we can’t do it without our amazing community 💛

Teacher Appreciation Week at Jenks is always something special but this year felt extra meaningful.

To our incredible teachers at Jenks, thank you. For the patience you bring on the hard days, the creativity you bring to every lesson, and the way you show up for our kids again and again. You are shaping more than academics. You are building confidence, curiosity, and a sense of belonging that our kids carry with them long after they leave your classrooms.

We see you. We appreciate you. And we are so grateful our kids get to learn from you.

We were so happy to celebrate our teachers this week with food from Juana Tamale. It made the day feel extra special, and it means even more to support a local business that is also part of the Jenks community.

Jenks shows up for each other in the best ways, and this week was such a beautiful example of that.
