Hi all!

For those of you who are not familiar, South Philly Co-op Playschool was an affordable, play-based, cooperative preschool (for ages 3-5) located in the East Passyunk Recreation Center at 11th and Mifflin. Grounded by a deep respect for young children, the school practiced supporting children in the development of conflict resolution skills, communication skills, empathy building, and interest led learning.

Parents found community there, too! While collaborating in support of the school and their children, parents found friendship and access to collective wisdom and support and the fulfillment of working in collaboration with people who are sharing a life experience with you.

Now, we are ready to relaunch this special place! The legal work and compliance work is near complete. We need new families to join us to co-lead the vision of what South Philly Co-op Playschool can be again.

Hey everyone!

The Board of Directors of the South Philly Co-Op Playschool are working on acquiring state licensure to operate at the East Passyunk Community Center. There have been a lot of moving pieces but it’s finally coming together.

We should have a permit from the city by the end of the month and our state license soon after. We are very confident that we will be opening in our home space at the EPCC for Fall 2022-2023 school year and we are currently excepting applications!
