This Labor Day we celebrate all of our alumni, parents, and donors who work hard every day to strengthen our city and our South Philly community through our local labor unions and skilled trades.

Dr. Kelly Height, Director of Curriculum and Instruction at the Monmouth County Vocational School District, led the Neumann Goretti faculty in a professional development workshop titled “From Coverage to Learning: Designing Lessons That Make Students Think.” The session challenged educators to shift from simply covering content to creating active learning experiences where students think critically, solve problems, collaborate, and demonstrate deep understanding. Thank you, Dr. Height!

Our I AM Program has brought us so much joy over the years, but right now we are all absolutely heartbroken at the loss of one of the most impactful women who came to speak to our young ladies.

Marianne E. Stolfo, Class of 2000, was one of the sweetest souls to walk these halls. She carried herself with grace and dignity. Sara invited her to speak for that very reason.

When she joined us last year for our I AM program, she told the story of how she found meaning in life and encouraged our young ladies to be fearless in deciding what direction they want their lives to go. She was so proud of the work she did and carrying on the family legacy.

Marianne’s viewing will take place Friday, September 4th from 9 AM - 11:30 AM at Saint Monica’s Church. We send all of our prayers and condolences to the Stolfo family during this difficult time.

Rest in Peace, Marianne.

This past weekend, the Saints made their way to Boston, Massachusetts for the John and Kathy Connolly Classic!

John and his family generously made it possible for our Saints football team to travel to Boston, where they connected with our newly established NG Boston Alumni Association, led by John ‘70 and Bob Ward ’68.

With our newly appointed head coach Byron Barnes, our Saints played a great scrimmage against St. Mary’s, received some words of encouragement from our alums before taking the field, traveled and bonded as a team, and even played some pickup basketball with their new friends from New England.

This weekend was especially meaningful as John and his wife, Kathy, were grieving the recent loss of their dear friend, Bernadette Esposito ’72. Even during such a difficult time, John and Kathy chose to be present for our team, encouraging them, supporting them, and giving them an experience they will always remember.

It is a true testament to John’s dedication to his alma mater and to his commitment in giving back so generously.

We are incredibly grateful to John, Kathy, and the entire Connolly family for continuing to invest in Saints Neumann Goretti. Kicking it off with The Connolly Classic, we know it’s going to be a great season! Go Saints!

A big thank you to St. Mary’s Church in Lynn, Massachusetts for welcoming our Saints and celebrating Mass with our football team today! We are so grateful for your hospitality and for the opportunity to come together reverently in faith before taking the field. ⚜️🏈

And they’re off! The Neumann Goretti football team, coaches, and several of our administrators are on their way to Lynn, Massachusetts for our annual scrimmage against St. Mary’s!

We would like to personally thank John and Kathy Connolly for their generous donation to make this trip possible. We’d also like to thank Local 98 for their support in helping our team.
