“I am Ruoxuan Chen, a visiting student from China and a junior at the The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen). I study accounting and marketing in my home university.

As a student majoring in accounting and management, I chose to study at UPenn for its distinguished faculty, abundant research resources, and the flexibility it offers to visiting students in course selection. I am also excited about Penn’s diverse student body and multicultural environment, which will grant me a valuable opportunity to advance my global perspective and cross-cultural communication skills, which are necessary to succeed in today’s interconnected world.

I am particularly eager to document my study abroad experience through photography and share these moments on social media. The IGSP is a vibrant and enthusiastic community. I enjoy meeting new people here from different cultural backgrounds and growing myself while helping others and am committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.”

“Hi, Quakers! I’m Xintong Li from Guangzhou, China 🇨🇳. I am a junior student studying English and History at Beijing Foreign Studies University 🥰. I’m excited to spend my fall semester at Penn!

🤩 My decision to become a Quaker was not a random choice. I had been looking for an Eden for interdisciplinary study that would allow me to enrich my academic arsenal and envision my future path. Penn holds the “first-class” ticket to that Eden. I do appreciate that the International Guest Student Program at Penn offers “free-walker” access to forefront positions in global academia, such as the College of Arts and Sciences and the Wharton and Engineering Schools. My interests in Sustainability and NGO studies can be fulfilled through Penn courses and extracurricular practices.

So far, my first month at Penn has proven my choice to be more than an one of “academic-excellent”. 🥳 Everything hap(PENN)ed in unexpected ways: having an orientation gala at Philadelphia Museum of Arts 🎊, joining Breakdancing 😎 and Kendo 🗡️ club, taking field trips to Washington DC or King of Prussia mall with classmates…You never know what’s coming next, but there won’t be any blank space in your Penn schedule!

The fall 2024 semester has begun, which means we welcomed a new cohort of IGSP students! We’re looking forward to a great semester!

PSGI 2024 has officially wrapped! From New York to Washington D.C. and from the Beach to the Phillies Game, we had a wonderful summer of cultural exploration. To our students - we hope you enjoyed your time here at Penn! Best of luck to you all on wherever your next adventure takes you!

Last weekend we kicked off the summer with the first PSGI cultural excursion - A tour of Old City, Philadelphia! Our students were able to walk in the footsteps of America’s founders, all while learning about the history of this wonderful city and the country’s founding! 🇺🇸🔔 🏛️

The 2024 Penn Summer Global Institute began this week! We have a fun 6 weeks ahead packed with learning and cultural exploration! Good luck to our PSGI students on their first day of classes! 📚🌇🌎

Another semester in the books! ✅ We had a lovely time yesterday at our IGSP Farewell Celebration. We wish our Spring 2024 cohort the best of luck in their future endeavors! ✈️
