We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Minnie Moore-Johnson, a beloved community leader, activist, mentor, and founding force behind Fathers and Children Together (FACT), whose decades of service and advocacy impacted countless lives across Philadelphia.
Through her work uplifting families, supporting returning citizens, feeding seniors, and creating spaces of care throughout Southwest Philadelphia, Dr. Moore-Johnson dedicated her life to ensuring people felt seen, valued, and supported. Her home became a place of gathering, healing, and community. In 2015, it also became the site of the “Fathers and Children Together” mural by artist Ernel Martinez, created in partnership with Mural Arts Philadelphia as a reflection of the love, connection, and restoration she championed every day.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, collaborators, and all who were inspired by her extraordinary life and service.
