Mural Arts Philadelphia

Before a mural becomes part of the neighborhood, it takes shape in the studio, through creativity, collaboration, and the work of bringing an idea to life.

Meet “Love of the Game”, a mural designed by Nile Livingston in collaboration with students at the Pan American Academy Charter School, with support from lead painting artist Donna Grace Kroh. Featuring two young soccer players in motion, it celebrates the sport's joy and the cultures and communities that make Philadelphia home.

Created in partnership with Philadelphia Soccer 2026, the mural connects a love of soccer with the power of making art together. This behind-the-scenes look follows its journey from the studio to the wall.

The art brought us together. The community brought it to life. ✨

This past weekend, the community showed UP for Heart of Kensington Creates, a community-centered arts initiative celebrating neighborhood identity and shared Kensington pride through collective impact.

Neighbors explored newly installed artwork on trolley rides and walking tours through the neighborhood. We kept the celebration going with dancing, local bites, and creativity and fun for all ages. A day full of neighborhood pride, with art to enjoy long after the celebration.

Shout out to the artists whose creativity made every stop worth celebrating, our partners at Impact Services and the office of Council Member Quetcy Lozada for helping make it happen, and our neighbors for filling the day with so much life!

Next time you’re in Kensington, take a moment to look around. You may discover your new favorite piece of art right in the neighborhood. 💛
