Wine lovers, meet cider!
🍎
Cider is a fermented beverage made from apples, and like wine, shows nuance, texture, complexity, and sense of place. From bright and refreshing to tannic and deeply expressive, cider has far more range than most people realize.
🍎
Join us Thursday, May 28, for a tasting led by Pommelier Claire Trindle, who will guide us through different styles of cider while exploring the apples, production methods, regions, and stories behind each glass.
🍎
Tickets available at the link in bio.

An unforgettable evening of brilliant bubbles!

A huge thank you to of and .likes.wine of for leading such an engaging tasting and sharing the stories behind the wines.

Like we always say… taste wine in context! The more points of comparison you have, the more clear individual characteristics become.

Start with extremely contrasting styles (like the two shown above) and progress to laterals from there.

Two of our newest WSET Diploma Grads! We could not be prouder of or , both of whom successfully completed the years-long Diploma program to become certified experts in wine.

Says Shaoyang (who finished with Distinction) , “It feels incredible to officially be a DipWSET! I began this diploma journey back in 2022. As a statistician in academia (not remotely related to the wine industry), this has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences of my life. Huge thanks to Matt , Sunita , and Noelle at PhillyWine for all your support along the way 🙏. And finishing with a Distinction in D5 is really the cherry on top, since this is a category I barely drank at all before (but start to grow very fond of now!)”

Debra Quinn, who previously worked in MS Information Technology, says, “I have been a wine enthusiast for a very long time and am grateful to have had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge and further my passion through WSET Philly Wine! For me, wine is ultimately about the senses, the people and the overall humanity. I have been lucky enough to appreciably develop my senses and increase my repertoire of a wide variety of wines discovered  throughout my journey. My love of wine has brought many people into my life, in addition to my wonderful family and friends, including my awesome WSET Instructors and classmates. It has opened many doors throughout the wine world, providing me with great experiences. It has reminded me just how beautifully human the world of wine truly is by heightening my awareness of the hard work and passion throughout the wine growing and wine making processes. I am grateful for all that wine has brought into my life!”

Cheers again and again! You deserve it!

Live violin, candlelight, and eye masks let the wine showcase its flavors, textures, and aromas in completely new and different ways.

It was a blast, we can’t wait to do it again in the fall. See you then!

The Clos de Bèze vineyard in Gevrey-Chambertin dates back to 630 AD, (!!) but none of its original vines exist. Each vine was replanted after phylloxera in the late 1800s.

Despite that little speed bump (phylloxera), Clos de Béze endured and continues to thrive. 💪
