Members showed up today for our workday at the Hammond Fairgrounds. Excellent work earning community service while sprucing up the grounds. 💪🏽 🪏 🖌️ 🎨

These two young ladies, Sadie Hyman and Terri Engle, went down bright and early to the New York State Fair spending the morning in the cattle barn evaluating six classes of dairy cattle of various breeds, ages and production stages. They then provided 2 sets of oral reasons to judges where they justified why they placed the animals as they did. They also completed a written exam about various management topics within the dairy industry. Both ladies had some very impressive scores for their classes with almost perfect placings! Watch out for them next year in the Dairy Cattle Evaluation and Management Contest when they have a full team! 🐄 📝 🗣️

This is an excellent way to get community service hours for awards and degrees.

Congrats to our Horse Evaluation Team! 🐴 🏆

Team: Summer Dobbs, Ava Howard, Quinn Howard, Sadie Hyman

They are the 1st Place Team who will represent NY FFA at The National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana this October!

Congrats also to Ava Howard who was 5th Place Individual!

This team is made up of some younger and newer members so we are very excited for their hard work to pay off! You make us proud!

Also big thank you to members Lillian Beach and Harper Beach for coming down early this morning with us to assist with running the contest.

This October during our National FFA Convention we will have eight students recognized for earning their American Degree. This is the highest degree and honor within the National FFA Organization. These members worked multiple years within various agricultural industries, performed dozens of hours of community service, displayed leadership skills and maintained records in order to be considered for this recognition. Well done! 🌟
