Penn Dhamaka, Penn's all-male South Asian fusion dance team, recently won first place at the Desi Dance Network (DDN) Legends National Dance Championship in Austin, Texas - marking the team's first-ever national title. Among the dancers celebrating this milestone are M&T students Aarav Patel and Abhinav Vadlamani.
DDN supports more than 150 collegiate teams nationwide, with only the top 10 qualifying each year to compete at Legends. Teams perform Bollywood fusion sets that blend South Asian and American dance styles, incorporating hip-hop, contemporary, classical, bhangra, and more. Congratulations to Aarav, Abhinav, and the entire Penn Dhamaka team on this incredible achievement and the hours of hard work behind it.

Thank you to Eric Helfgott (M&T’18) for visiting campus last week to speak with students about his career journey and how to think about choosing between business fundamentals and gaining technical depth.
Eric is currently an investor at Lowercarbon Capital - one of the most renowned climate tech investment funds. In addition to sharing his experience, he also chatted with students about what “climate tech” means today, compared the realities of the startup and investor sides, and highlighted the single most important thing students can do now if they hope to become future founders or investors.
