We had the absolute best time kicking off the Fall semester by welcoming our new Medical Physics Graduate Programs’ students and catching up with our returning faces.A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by Smilow Commons to grab some breakfast, fuel up on coffee, and connect. Meet Danujan, a second-year master’s student in the Penn MPGP! Danujan is from Boston, Massachusetts, and earned his bachelor’s degree in physics from Dartmouth College. After completing his master’s degree at Penn, he plans to pursue a radiation therapy physics residency with the goal of becoming a clinical medical physicist.

Danujan’s thesis focuses on establishing a robustness framework for defining clinically acceptable tolerances for proton spatially fractionated radiation therapy (SFRT), with the goal of supporting its potential translation into clinical treatment. 

At Penn, Danujan works as a PSQA assistant, chart rounds assistant, and a teaching assistant for the first-year course Introduction to Radiation Protection. Outside of medical physics, Danujan enjoys traveling and playing tennis competitively for UPenn’s Club Tennis team.
