🌳 Orchard Theme: Fruit Trees! 🌳

We brought together two art projects from last week to create our very own pear trees! 🍐🎨 The children also learned the sign language for “tree” while building vocabulary, fine-motor skills, coordination, and creativity.

🍎🔎 Apple Investigation! Our little scientists had so much fun exploring apples through hands-on discovery! They observed, touched, smelled, and investigated the different parts of an apple while making observations and learning along the way.

🌤️ Our Daily Weather Routine

As part of our daily Circle Time routine, we take a few moments to explore the weather!

🎶 The children sing our weather song and listen to a variety of weather sounds—such as rain, wind, thunder, and sunshine sounds.

🌦️ Each day, one child is chosen as our Weather Helper. They look outside, observe what they see and feel, and then choose the picture on our weather chart that best describes the day’s weather.

This simple routine helps children build observation, language, listening, decision-making, and early science skills while connecting what we learn in the classroom to the world around us.

The children had such a great time decorating their T-shirts, dressing their teddy bears, giving them names, and officially “adopting” their new furry friends! What looked like a day filled with fun was also packed with opportunities for learning and development.

✨ Skills we practiced through play included:

* 🎨 Creativity & self-expression – decorating and personalizing their T-shirts
* ✋ Fine-motor skills – using stickers, markers, and other materials
* 🗣️ Language & communication – naming their teddy bears and talking about them
* 💭 Imagination & pretend play – caring for and adopting their bears
* ❤️ Social-emotional development – practicing nurturing, empathy, and responsibility

Fine Motor Fun!

Today our little learners worked on their fine motor skills through hands-on play! They practiced grasping, picking up, connecting, and manipulating colorful toys while strengthening those little fingers and hand muscles.

These activities may look like play, but they are building important skills for writing, self-help tasks, coordination, and independence. We love watching those little hands learn and grow
