AlGen Holding Company: Center Director
The AlGen Holding Company d/b/a AWB Children’s Center (“AWB”); Franklin Day Nursery (“FDNS”); Franklin Day Nursery Northeast (“FDNNE”); and The Harvard Children’s Academy (“HCA”) is seeking a Center Director to fulfill its mission to provide a social, emotional, physical, and intellectual developmentally and healthy environment for students while supporting families in their essential work as parent and caregivers. The Center Director will act with the highest level of integrity in implementing the mission of AlGen and all of its programs. The Center Director is a model for the strong ideals of the program and communicates those ideas effectively with teachers, students, families, and the Executive Director.
Responsibilities:
• Managing and supervising site Staff Members;
• Manages strong relationships with School District of Philadelphia Federal Head Start, PA Keystone STARS, and Early Learning Resources Center (ELRC) child care subsidy programs;
• Leads the strategic direction of the sites program, designing, and implementing short-term and long-term strategic plans, in collaboration with the Executive Director;
• Fosters a culture of continuous learning and growth for teachers, committing to and facilitate professional development for all staff members;
• Complies with all licensing requirements set forth by state and local regulatory agencies;
• Establishes and enforces AlGen’s policies and procedures;
• Office functions, including processing of pre-enrollment, waitlist, enrollment, attendance through COPA and Pelican systems, weekly Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Meal Count summary sheets, Keystone STARS designation and renewals, Office of Child Development Early Learning (OCDEL) renewals, staff time and attendance sheets, tuition billing, and payments, retaining student and staff personnel files and any additional functions required by the Center Director;
• Collaboration with Executive Director for the hiring of teaching staff and support staff to effectively implement AlGen’s programs;
• Greets AlGen’s parents, children, and visitors, modeling kindness, inclusivity, and expertise; and
• Represents AlGen’s in the community with integrity, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
Required Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education; or
• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and PA Director’s Credential; and
• Minimum of five (5) years experience as a Director of an Early Childhood program; and
• Familiarity with OCDEL, Federal Head Start, Keystone STARS-3 or higher, and NAEYC Accreditation standards;
• Pass - Criminal, FBI, Child Abuse, and National S*x Offender Registry Clearances; and
• Currently Certified in First Aid and CPR.
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a full-time position to begin as soon as possible, with a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, disability insurance coverage, paid vacation, and sick time.
