In his two decades in education, one thing about Dr. Michael Farrell ’03 has remained constant: students sit at the center of all that he does.

Now, Farrell is helping shape the educational experience of the more than 115,000 students in Philadelphia’s public schools. After four years as the School District of Philadelphia’s Chief Learning Officer, he was recently named Chief Academic Officer.

“We believe that our students should have a robust, world-class teaching and learning experience regardless of what classroom they are in or what school they attend,” says Farrell.

Isaiah West '25 is ready to shine at Ohio State after a transformative off-season. Good luck to him and all Prep Hawks heading into a new year!

After shoulder surgery sidelined him this spring, Isaiah West is fully healthy and has transformed his body, resulting in a strong second offseason at Ohio State.

Colin Curtin '05 was recently profiled on PCLSN:

"From his days on the bench as a student manager to being an assistant coach at La Salle University, two things haven’t changed for Colin Curtin — his love for St. Joseph’s Prep, and his love for basketball."

Curtin, entering his third season on the sidelines for the Explorers, is happy that his friend Chris Clark '05 is helming the Prep's basketball program and is grateful for his time at 17th & Girard.

“[The Prep] means everything,” Curtin said. “I’m gonna be indebted to the Prep for the rest of my life. I’m not here today without St. Joe’s Prep. Any time that I can speak about the Prep, I speak glowingly about it.”

Bob McKee '95 was diagnosed with CNS Lymphoma in 2023, and recently launched the podcast "Bob Battles Cancer" to share his journey of resilience, find fellow cancer fighters who want to share their stories, thank his heroes, and learn what inspired them to do what they do, and offer hope to others who might feel lost. His first guest (besides himself!) is Kevin Hogan '87, who is fighting brain cancer.

On this show, they discussed their cancer battles, as well as their shared St. Joseph's Prep experience.
