Last weekend, we were happy to welcome back members of the Class of 1976 for their 50th Reunion Weekend. Over those three days, many stories were swapped (many were actually true!), friendships were renewed, and laughter filled the room. The group also remembered those classmates who have passed on.

We are so grateful to have Armand Della Porta '73 at the Prep as part of our Mission and Ministry Team. Armand, a former President of the Alumni Association and a former St. Joseph's Prep Trustee, is at the Prep through the Ignatian Volunteer Corps and has been essential in working with Campus Minister Katie Longto to help students complete their Ignatian Service Hours.
The Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) Philadelphia/South Jersey offers adults in their “encore years” the opportunity to serve local nonprofit organizations that support people in need.
From food pantries and shelters to education and elder care programs, IVC Volunteer Corps Members help extend the mission and reach of these trusted organizations, offering their time, talents, and hearts to serve those in need.

The Prep Network is one of the best parts of a St. Joseph's Prep education. Here is one example: Drew Bergman '12, supporting fellow Prep Hawk Chris Johnson '11 at a fundraiser for Johnson, who is running for a seat in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. This weekend, members of the Prep A4 Alumni Association are also volunteering to help Johnson get out the vote.

Congratulations to all Prep graduates who will receive their college degrees this month. We are proud of all that you have accomplished!
As part of his graduation exercises, Alex DiGiacomo '22 had his artwork selected for the cover of the Baccalaureate Mass program at Saint Joseph's University! As a student at the Prep, Alex also won the Ignatian Identity Art Contest in 2020, with an image depicting St. Joseph the Worker. Congratulations Alex!

It was wonderful to welcome Jon Runyan '15 back to campus with his wife, Victoria, and son, Jax, as they were visiting the Philadelphia area. Jon, who is entering his seventh season in the NFL and is currently a member of the New York Giants, had lunch with current Prep Football players and met with President John Marinacci. He was extremely impressed with the campus renovations!
Welcome home Jon!

Kevin Brett '04 was among those working hard to commemorate the Kensington Riots of 1844. On Saturday, a historic marker was dedicated on American Street, along with the Nanny Goat Festival. Members of the Philadelphia City Government were on hand, Fr. Chris Walsh celebrated Mass at Saint Michael’s, and a whole list of entertainment featuring Irish bands as well as vendors. Thank you to Kevin and others for keeping history alive in our historic city!
